My rate is based on the service(s) required and the amount of time necessary to complete the project. The best way that I can provide an estimate is to see a sample of the project. Usually four consecutive pages (1,000 words) representative of the entire manuscript are sufficient. I do the sample edit or index free of charge. If the sample submitted doesn’t reflect the rest of the project, the rates will be discussed and adjusted as necessary.
Before I begin working on a project we will discuss particulars, such as the depth of an index, the level of editing, the style guide, and dates. Following that discussion, I will send you a contract, which you’ll read, and—if you agree to the terms—sign and return to me.
Should you need more information or would like a quote tailored to your project, please send me a message. For a quote, please include the type of project, subject, word count, the services you require, the date you will send me your manuscript, and the date by which you need it completed. When choosing a due date you should give yourself at least 24 hours to go over my suggestions.
If I cannot fit your project into my schedule, I’ll be happy to refer you to another editor or indexer.
